Economic Council of the City of Nis

Economic  Council of the City of Niš is a permanent working body of the City Council, which monitors the implementation of plans and programs of local economic development, provides initiatives related to economic development and opinions on priority projects, monitors activities to promote economic potential and considers economic development strategies. The members are appoined among the businessmen, experts in the field of economics, entrepreneurs and members of their associations, representatives of the University, citizens’ associations, city municipalities, local communities. The members are appointed by the City Council, by the decision of the Mayor, while the scope and manner of work are defined by the Rules of Procedure of the City Council. Professional and administrative- technical tasks for the needs of the Council are performed by the Office for Local Economic Development.
