Startup center
Start-up Center Niš is an incubator for the ideas and business ventures of young aspiring people, supporting the entrepreneurial spirit and developing creativity among students, as well as innovative startup companies in the field of science and advanced technologies in their road to maturation.
It was founded in 2017 as a joint initiative of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and the City of Niš and represents the first step towards the construction of the Science and Technology Park in Niš.
Start-up Center Nis builds a tight-knit community that proves that innovation and creativity are an inexhaustible category in our city, and its vision includes contribution to the City of Niš to become a regional center for dynamic development of innovative technological entrepreneurship, international promotion of projects and companies in the South and East Serbia region, as well as strengthening the global competitiveness of the entire Republic of Serbia.
Who is the Start-up Center intended for?
- Innovative start-ups, up to two years of existance, who are provided assistance and support in doing business, networking and developing export potential.
- Young people, students of the University of Niš, who are supported in developing innovative ideas and strengthening entrepreneurial potential, to developing their own businesses through start-ups and spin-offs.
What services does it provide to customers?
- Infrastructure services – open office space with use of common premises;
- Free mentoring and advisory support in the areas of law, management, consulting and bookkeeping;
- Continuous education through training programs in the field of entrepreneurship and specialized trainings in various fields of advanced technologies, market research, and intellectual property protection;
- Networking and promotion;
- Access to equipment for applied scientific research.
Additional opportunities:
- animation of funds, state organizations and LSG, donor programs and successful business organizations to invest in selected programs and help develop innovation.
Premises
There is 600m2 of modern equipped work space within the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, which is purposefully divided into two levels.
The first level is used by students to work on projects and develop their innovation, as well as to gain first-hand experience with entrepreneurship.
The second level is for young entrepreneurs and start-ups. The Coworking section includes 16 workplaces with a corner office with 8 workplaces. A meeting room is also available, as well as a spacious presentation room, both available for business use.
The 116m2 common area, which includes kitchen and a living room, is great for relaxing
and socializing with all the tenants of the Center.
Equipment
In addition to equipment for normal functioning (computers, multifunction printers, projectors, projector screens, white magnetic boards), specialized equipment is also available to promote advanced technologies (3D printer, virtual reality set, unimers,
oscilloscopes, signal generator, development kits for robotics and IT).
The equipment is available to all tenants of the Center, as well as to the students who
implement their ideas within the Center.
